American professional tennis player Serena Jameka Williams (born September 26, 1981) is no longer competing. She was rated No. 1 in the world in singles by the Women's Tennis Association (WTA) for 319 weeks, including a joint-record 186 straight weeks, and she won the year-end No. 1 spot five times. She is regarded as one of the greatest tennis players of all time. She finished with 23 Grand Slam singles victories, second most in history and the most of any player during the Open Period. The Career Golden Slam has only been achieved by one player, male or female, in singles and doubles.
